Corrupted text and broken text both aim for a "something went wrong" aesthetic, and side by side they can look similar — but the generator builds each one differently.
Broken text
Broken text keeps things relatively subtle. It layers strikethrough marks across your letters and occasionally inserts invisible zero-width characters between them, producing a look closest to redacted or glitching-but-still-readable text.
Corrupted text
Corrupted text goes further. On top of combining marks below and through your letters, it randomly injects visible glitch symbols like #, % and block characters, aiming for the look of genuinely garbled data rather than just a stylistic flourish.
If you want something that still reads clearly at a glance, start with Broken Text. If you want your username or caption to look like it is actively malfunctioning, Corrupted Text is the stronger choice.
