How to Use Glitch Text in Your Instagram Bio (Without Breaking It)

Instagram bios are one of the most popular places to use glitch text, but they are also one of the least forgiving — you only get 150 characters, and every combining mark counts toward that limit. Here is how to get a glitch effect into your bio without losing half your sentence to the character counter.

Pick a lighter style for long lines

Heavy Zalgo text can use five, ten or more characters per letter once you count the combining marks. For anything longer than a single word, styles like Light Glitch, Tiny Glitch or Unicode Glitch are far more efficient, since they add at most one extra character per letter — or none at all.

Reserve heavy styles for short accents

Save Heavy Glitch or full Zalgo text for a single word, like your name or one emphasized phrase, rather than a full sentence. It reads more dramatically that way, and it is far less likely to get cut off.

Always preview before you save

Paste your generated text into the actual Instagram bio field before publishing — rendering can vary slightly between devices, and it is the easiest way to confirm your chosen style still looks the way you expect.
