Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this site. We build with the aim of following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site has not been through a formal third-party audit, so we do not claim full conformance. This page describes what we do and where there are known limits.
What we do
- Pages use semantic HTML with headings, landmarks and a skip-to-content link.
- Every form control and tool input has a visible label.
- All tools can be used with a keyboard, and focus is clearly visible.
- Copy and error messages are announced to assistive technology through live regions.
- Text and controls are designed to meet minimum contrast ratios, and meaning is never conveyed by color alone.
- Motion is minimal, and animations and transitions are turned off for people who ask their device to reduce motion.
- Layouts are responsive and work at larger text sizes and on small screens.
Known limits
- The text the tools produce. Fancy, glitch and decorated text is made from Unicode characters that screen readers, search tools and translation software may read poorly, and heavy glitch text is intentionally hard to read. Each tool page includes a note about this, and we recommend keeping important information in plain text. Our guide to fancy text and accessibility explains the issues.
- Visual examples. Examples of styled text are labeled with the style name, and marked as not for translation, but a screen reader may announce the characters oddly.
- Third-party content. If advertising or other third-party services are added in the future, we cannot guarantee their accessibility.
Feedback
If you find a barrier or have a suggestion, please tell us through the contact page or at contact@glitchtextgenerator.org. Include the page address, what you were trying to do and the device or assistive technology you use if you can. We will do our best to fix problems, but we cannot promise a response time.
