About this tool
Bubble text uses a family of Unicode characters called enclosed alphanumerics, where each letter is drawn inside a circle, square or pair of parentheses. Unicode has outlined circles for upper and lower case, filled circles for capitals, outlined and filled squares, and parenthesized forms.
Some of these sets do not have a separate lowercase alphabet. In those cases the tool maps lowercase to the capital version so every letter still converts. Digits convert in the circled sets and, for 1 to 9, in the parenthesized set. The square sets have no digit forms, so numbers stay as they are there.
How to use the bubble text generator
- Type a short word or name.
- Compare the outlined, filled and boxed results.
- Press Copy on the set you prefer.
- Paste it and look at it on a small screen, since enclosed letters are wide.

- Initials and monograms.
- Numbered lists in plain text, using the circled digits.
- Playful gaming names where symbols are allowed.
Compatibility and limits
Filled squares and some filled circles are newer characters, so older devices may show boxes. Several systems also draw filled letters as colored emoji-style tiles. Test before using them anywhere important.
Text made with Unicode characters can be hard for screen readers to read and may not match searches for the original words. Keep names, links and important details in plain text.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some bubble letters look like emoji?
Some devices render the filled square and filled circle characters with emoji fonts. The characters are the same, but the artwork is chosen by the device.
Does bubble text work in game names?
Only where the game accepts Unicode. Many games limit names to a restricted character list.
How long can bubble text be?
There is no limit in the tool, but enclosed letters are wide, so keep it short.
