Reversing text sounds simple, but there are several different things people mean. This tool covers four. Reversed text flips the whole string so the last letter comes first. Reversed word order keeps each word intact but reads the words from the end. Each word reversed flips the letters inside every word but keeps the words in order. Line order reversed turns a multi-line list upside-down.

Reversal works on Unicode characters rather than raw code units, so emoji and other characters outside the basic range stay in one piece and do not break into unreadable pieces. Accents that are stored as separate combining marks can still detach from their letters, which is a known limitation of simple reversal.

Compatibility and limits

Plain text in, plain text out: the results are ordinary characters, so they work in nearly every app. Right-to-left scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew have their own display rules, so reversing them can produce confusing results.

Text made with Unicode characters can be hard for screen readers to read and may not match searches for the original words. Keep names, links and important details in plain text.
