DMCA and Copyright Policy

GlitchTextGenerator.org respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its visitors to do the same. This page explains how to tell us about content on the site that you believe infringes your copyright, and how to respond if your content was removed by mistake.

Most of the site is original articles, tool code and tool descriptions. The tools convert text that visitors type in their own browsers, and that text is not sent to or stored by us, so we generally cannot see or remove it.

Reporting copyright infringement

If you are a copyright owner, or are authorized to act for one, and you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, send a written notice to contact@glitchtextgenerator.org with the subject line “Copyright notice”. A complete notice should include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed. If several works are involved, a representative list is acceptable.
  3. A description of the material you say is infringing and enough detail for us to find it, ideally the exact page address (URL).
  4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Notices that are incomplete may not be actionable. Please do not send a notice unless you believe in good faith that the material infringes your rights. Knowingly making false claims of infringement can have legal consequences.

What we do with a notice

When we receive a complete notice, we will review it and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material. We may forward the notice, including your contact details, to the person responsible for the material. We may also tell that person how to respond.

Counter-notice

If material you provided was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you have the right to use it, you may send a counter-notice to the same email address with the subject line “Counter-notice”. It should include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. A description of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed because of a mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any place where the site's operator may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may send it to the person who filed the original notice. Where the law provides for it, we may restore the material unless that person tells us they have started legal action.

Repeat infringers

Where appropriate and as the law requires, we will limit or end access to the site's services for people who are repeatedly found to infringe the rights of others.
